Oh, WoW!

So I spent most of the day doodling and so fourth, and I decided to color a little sketch I did about a week ago just for practice. My coloring needs a lot of work so any time I spend on it just puts me that much closer to being a pro. The sketch (below) is of Aillith and Rio, two World of Warcraft characters belonging to my girlfriend Dawn and I, respectively. She's a warlock, I'm a hunter, we kill things, etc etc etc. So yeah, I hope you like the drawing! Be sure to leave a comment and tell me what you think about the coloring! I spent about 3 hours on it total.

I'm a nerd, and I really don't care.
Here are a few screen caps of the actual characters, just so you can see what they look like in comparison. It's always interesting to work from reference, and it was definitely a real challenge to turn the complex character models into cartoons. Note- Dawn's wardrobe changed since I drew the image, so ignore the costume discrepancies.

Rio - Lv 75 Hunter
Aillith - Lv 73 Warlock

  2. It looks really good. The only thing I would say is the string that the male character is pulling from the bow, I know you added shadow to the connecting point but when its not zoom in, it looks like the string is disconnected from the bow. Everything else looks awesome. I liked the detail on his armor and his pose.

  3. Haha Lori, I would love to get to 80 but I am sloooow. Plus on those two characters Dawn and I kinda play together so I'm waiting for her to get to 75 so we can be in the same BG tier. Desert Rabbit, thanks for the critique- it's always appreciated. I definitely see what you mean about the bow string. I have a bad habit of making things "float" sometimes.. gotta stop that! But thank you so much- I'm glad you enjoyed it! =]
